Over the past 19 years, Mr. Isaacson has obtained substantial experience in guiding his clients through complex commercial litigation and litigation related to intellectual property. He has assisted his clients in enforcing their intellectual property rights, whether those rights concern patent, trademark, or copyright, as well as defended his clients from the enforcement efforts of others.

Mr. Isaacson is a partner and founder of Fitzgerald & Isaacson, LLP. A member of the Florida, California, District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia bars, and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Mr. Isaacson, represents Fortune 500 companies, start-up companies, individual inventors, and entrepreneurs.

Mr. Isaacson also has substantial experience in cost effectively aiding his clients in their strategic procurement, maintenance, and monetization of their intellectual property portfolios, including managing a complex patent portfolio having more than 500 active domestic and foreign matters.

Mr. Isaacson's technical experience covers a gamut of technologies including digital signal processing, digital design, computer hardware and architecture, microprocessor design, computer programming, computer networks, telecommunications, LCD display systems, GPS systems, scientific instrumentation, workplace efficiency, athletic apparatus, medical devices, set top boxes, satellite television systems, 3-D television, consumer electronics, search engines, and neural networks among others.

Mr. Isaacson spent his legal career working for large multi-national law firms in Washington D.C. and Los Angeles, prior to co-founding Fitzgerald & Isaacson, LLP. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked for the Department of Defense for 8 years as an electrical engineer, during which time he earned a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Isaacson attended the University Maryland and was an Articles Editor on the Maryland Law Review. Involved with his community, Mr. Isaacson is a member of the Executive Committee of the Miami-Dade Special Olympics, and participates actively on the host committee of that organization's biannual fund raisers.

  • Reese v. Aastra Technologies et al. (E.D. Tex.), represented defendant VTech in patent infringement case concerning Call Waiting and Caller ID technology;
  • Rockwell v. Apropos (N.D. Ill.), represented defendant Apropos in patent infringement case concerning call center technology;
  • Positive Technologies, Inc. v. BenQ America Corp. et al (E.D. Tex), represented defendant BenQ America Corp. in patent infringement case concerning LCD screen technology;
  • TA Instruments, Inc. v. Perkin-Elmer Corp. (D. Del.), represented plaintiff TA Instruments in patent infringement case concerning differential scanning calorimeters;
  • Waters v. Applera and Applera Corp v. Micromass, Inc., (D. Del.), represented Waters and its subsidiary Micromass in patent infringement case concerning mass spectrometers;
  • Whirlpool, Inc. v. Curtis International Ltd. and The Home Depot, Inc. (W.D. Mich.), represented defendants Curtis International and The Home Depot Inc. in patent infringement case involving patterned refrigerator doors;
  • 180s, Inc. et al v. J.C. Penney Company, Inc. et al (D. Md.), represented defendant J.C. Penney in patent infringement case concerning earmuffs;
  • 911EP, Inc. v. Whelen Engineering et al (E.D. Tex.), represented plaintiff 911EP in patent infringement case concerning LED light bars for emergency vehicles
  • Motorola v. VTech, represented VTech in patent dispute concerning user interface technology.
